The First Home Dedications at Cliff St Cottages

On Saturday, January 24th, families, volunteers, donors, and community partners gathered to celebrate the dedication of three new Habitat homes in Port Townsend. These homes are the first of six situated in Habitat’s new Cliff Street Cottages, a cozy neighborhood tucked away among mature trees, built to foster community and engagement between its residents.

The ceremony opened with a welcome from Executive Director Jamie Maciejewski, setting the tone for celebration. After a few words from Board President Todd Hutton and Board Vice President Josie Morales, along with a blessing from Pastor Tony Brown of Trinity United Methodist Church, the ceremony concluded with house sponsors handing over three sets of keys to the community's first residents, Derrick, Jenny, and Alisa and her spouse Derik. As the keys changed hands, the significance of the moment was clear. The houses became homes, filled with possibility and promises for the future.
